With over 12 years of retained executive search experience, Jay frequently serves as an adviser to chief executive officers, boards, human resource executives and other executives on new position development, organizational alignment, compensation, equity and employment agreements. He specializes in partnering with his client's senior management team to create and execute nationwide executive search strategies with the goal of attracting and recruiting senior management talent.
Jay has successfully executed critical search projects across multiple industries, such as President, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Actuary, Chief Marketing Officer, Executive Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Small Group Medical, Vice President of Claims, Vice President of Underwriting and Vice President Corporate Controller. He has also executed a variety of other C-level, Senior Vice President and executive level assignments in the areas of underwriting, claims, accounting, business development, legal, network operations, senior administration and more.
Prior to his tenure with Slayton, he was employed by a large retained executive search firm where he marketed and strategically executed searches for a variety of clients ranging from start-up firms to Fortune 500 companies. While there, he successfully completed engagements for leadership roles including President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Human Resources.
Before his career in executive search, he was trained as a licensed health, life, property and casualty insurance broker.
